Advisor to the Arequipa Regional Government in the upgrading of the technology to be implemented for the Majes-Siguas project. Tasks of the advisor included technical and financial review and opinion, plus that involving comparative economic and business aspects resulting from the new technology to be employed. This technology includes sealed pressurized pipes to be fully and exclusively employed for the transport and distribution of water throughout the 38,500 Ha. irrigation project, replacing an open canal system previously designed. LPC reviewed the technical implications resulting from the technological upgrading and validated the incremental investment budget, the method for compensation of the budget increase and the required contractual modifications (through a new Addendum) involved in the proposed technological change.

Advisor to the Regional Government of Arequipa, through ProInversion, in the concession of the irrigation infrastructure project for “Pampas de Siguas”, including its integration with the “Pampas de Majes” irrigation system. The mandate included valuation of the project and preparation of a co-financing scheme, as well as promotion of the project. The concession plus State co-financing of US$ 207.7 million was originally awarded in 2010 to the Angostura-Siguas Consortium, through an international bidding process.

LPCs role included due diligence of Molinos Mayo as well as of the associated companies, analysis of corporate options, valuation of all business units and support in the negotiations.
Biabo Forests

Advisor to the Government of Peru on the concession of sustainable exploitation rights for the Biabo-Cordillera Azul rain forests. The role of LPC included support in the definition of the concession structure, valuation of the different lots, preparation of marketing documents, and promotion of the project. The proposed structure implied sustainable exploitation of the rain forest via long term concessions. This project was supported by the World Bank and other multilateral organizations.
