Irrigations and Agribusiness

Agriculture provides fruit, vegetables, grains, beans, tea, coffee and spices as well as natural fibers, to a growing population; present day agribusinesses make very efficient use of the land and water available to them, in providing high value crops which are consumed worldwide.  In addition to the land, appropriate climate conditions–light, temperature and predictable moderate rainfall seasons—provide an environment where crops of valuable fruit and vegetables can thrive year round, with resulting high productivity and profits.

LPC has been the advisor to ProInversion in the Majes Siguas 2, the 38,500 Ha. irrigation project.  We have also advised the Regional Government of Arequipa and Autodema regarding investment cost of this irrigation project, and on the latest technological change in transport and distribution of water through adoption of a closed-duct pressurized system, which provides substantial improvements in efficiency and characteristics of the water, requiring a US$ 104 million increase in Capex.  LPC has also advised on financial restructuring of subsidiaries of a major poultry producer, on financing expansion plans of a table grape producer, and provided advisory to the Government of Peru on the concession of sustainable exploitation rights for the Biabo-Cordillera Azul rainforest.
